Families in and around Roswell will have an opportunity to explore music-based child development this Tuesday as Perfect Harmony Health hosts “Mini Melodies,” a free interactive music therapy session designed for children and caregivers.
Scheduled for May 27 from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM, the class will take place at 1001 Macy Drive, Roswell, GA 30076. The 30-minute session is open to children of all ages and abilities and is led by a board-certified music therapist. Registration is required in advance through the organization’s official website.
“This is an inclusive class built to engage every child — neurotypical or neurodiverse — in meaningful music experiences,” said a spokesperson from Perfect Harmony Health.
Open to All Families
Unlike many structured early-childhood events, Mini Melodies encourages participation from entire families, including siblings, grandparents, and caregivers. The environment is designed to be sensory-friendly and welcoming to children with developmental differences.
The class structure includes:
- Guided group singing
- Instrument play using child-friendly tools
- Rhythm and movement games
- Social interaction through joint music activities
- Interactive time between parent and child
There is no fee to attend, but capacity is limited to maintain an effective group setting. Registration is available at:

Developmental Benefits of Music Therapy
The class is based on principles of music therapy, a research-supported field that blends music and behavioral science to support developmental needs.
According to organizers, benefits of group music therapy in early childhood include:
- Language development through singing
- Motor coordination via instrument play
- Cognitive stimulation using rhythm-based games
- Emotional expression in a safe group setting
- Social engagement among neurodiverse and neurotypical children
- Bond strengthening between child and caregiver
Mini Melodies also introduces families to therapeutic techniques they can use at home to build communication and regulation skills.

Local Response and Participation
Events like Mini Melodies have gained attention for their emphasis on inclusive early childhood enrichment. Past sessions held across the metro area have drawn positive feedback from both parents and therapy professionals.
“Parents are often looking for low-pressure, high-impact activities. This kind of free class gives them something structured, accessible, and social — without clinical barriers,” said Alyssa Gray, a pediatric speech therapist who refers clients to community programs like this.
How to Attend
Families interested in joining the Mini Melodies session should register online prior to the event. The session will begin promptly at 7:30 AM on Tuesday, May 27, and participants are encouraged to arrive 10–15 minutes early.
