Search Continues for Missing Arkansas Woman Last Seen Near Lake Ashbaugh

Authorities in Greene County, Arkansas are continuing their search for Jessica Paige Kemp, a 32-year-old woman who has been missing since May 5 after she was last seen camping alone near Lake Ashbaugh, located in the northeast part of the state.

Kemp, originally from Munford, Tennessee, had reportedly moved to Paragould and was described by family members as close-knit and in frequent contact with loved ones. Her sudden silence triggered immediate concern.

“We’ve searched everything. We’ve searched all those woods,” said her mother, Sandy Kemp, speaking to local media outlets. “We knew something was wrong.”

Last Contact and Discovery of Her Vehicle

Jessica was last heard from the morning of May 5, when she read a message from her mother. A text sent the following morning at 6:30 AM remained unread, which family members say is extremely out of character for her.

Her vehicle was later discovered abandoned, with personal belongings scattered inside, including her purse and cellphone. However, there was no sign of Kemp herself at or near the site.

Authorities are currently reviewing data from her recovered cellphone, but no breakthroughs have been reported.

Emotional Toll on Family

The emotional impact on Kemp’s family has been devastating. Her younger brother, Darnell Kemp, spoke publicly about the situation, saying:

“I’m very worried, very concerned. I’m sad, and I’m missing my sister very much.”

Her fiancé, Paden Raburn, added that the family is doing everything possible to find her and is pleading for outside help.

“We’re physically exhausted with the situation. We just want her home,” he said.

Search Area and Ongoing Efforts

Jessica is believed to have gone missing within a 25,000-acre Wildlife Management Area surrounding Lake Ashbaugh. This vast and largely wooded region has complicated search efforts, requiring coordination between local authorities, wildlife officers, and volunteers.

As of this week, there has been no confirmed sighting, and investigators have not ruled out the possibility of foul play.

“Somebody may have taken her at this time, we just don’t know,” her mother said. “I just want her found alive and I want her to come home.”

Family Describes Jessica as Struggling, but Not Disconnected

According to her mother, Jessica may have been dealing with emotional or mental health challenges, but she remained in consistent contact with family members until the morning she went missing.

“We’ve always been a very, very close family,” Sandy Kemp said. “So we knew right away that something wasn’t right.”

Community Support Growing

As word spreads, support continues to grow across both Tennessee and Arkansas, where Kemp has ties. Social media groups and volunteer networks have mobilized in hopes of expanding the search and raising awareness.

A dedicated Facebook page has been set up by friends and family to organize updates, share leads, and coordinate future search efforts.
