PdC varsity soccer beats River Valley, varsity reserve ties

On Thursday afternoon the Lady Hawks took on River Valley at home for Parents’ Night for Prairie du Chien soccer. There was a varsity reserve and a varsity game and both teams did a phenomenal job. 

“A special thank you to all the parents who were able to make it tonight as I know your daughters greatly appreciated it,” said Coach Amber Hynnek.

The Prairie varsity defeated River Valley 3-0.

The Prairie du Chien Lady Hawks lost a tough game against Platteville, 17-0, on Thursday afternoon at Bluff View Intermediate School.

Prairie’s starting pitcher, Rilee Wikan, was injured in a slide during practice Wednesday and was unable to pitch.  

The girls also struggled defensively with multiple errors.

Seneca beat visiting Weston on Monday, 6-2 in a Ridge and Valley baseball game.

Seneca got things started in the first inning when Kolton Chambers singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Seneca notched three runs in the third inning. Chambers, Matt Hall,and Joey Oppreicht each drove in runs during the inning.

Seneca hosted Weston in conference softball action on Monday, May 7. 

Seneca took the lead in the bottom of the first with Emily Garfoot getting on with a triple to right. Garfoot would then steal home to score the lone run of the inning.

Blackhawks host SWC match

Prairie du Chien Blackhawk golfers hosted a Southwest Wisconsin Conference match at the Prairie du Chien Country Club on Friday. 

The Hawks were unable capitalize on the home course advantage, finishing third with a team score of 191. Platteville won the event with a score of 159.

Prairie du Chien rallied to edge visiting River Valley 3-2 in an SWC baseball game Tuesday afternoon.

River Valley scored 2 runs on 4 hits in the top of the first inning to grab a 2-0 lead. 

The score remained the same until Prairie scored 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth and 1 more in the sixth to take the lead at 3-2.

The Prairie du Chien Lady Hawks soccer team had a phenomenal game to defeat the visiting Richland Center Hornets 2-0 Thursday afternoon. 

In the first half, Prairie dominated the game, only allowing Richland Center to get into Prairie’s defensive half of the field two times.

The Prairie du Chien softball team lost 11-1 in 5 innings against visiting Lancaster Thursday afternoon at Bluff View. 

Rilee Wikan took the loss. She gave up 13 hits and had 1 strikeout. 

Only 5 of Lancaster’s 11 runs were earned.

On the girls side, the final results are as follows: Prairie du Chien (84 points), Richland Center (56 points) and River Valley (44 points).


River Ridge Track

The River Ridge track and field team is all smiles as they display their trophy for winning the Cassville Invitational on Thursday.

The River Ridge boys and girls track and field teams both won the Cassville Invitational Thursday afternoon.

River Ridge won the girls meet with 174 points. North Crawford had 129, Potosi 125, Cassville 74, Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg 57, Black Hawk 56 and Pecatonica-Argyle 40.
