Seneca jumped out to an early lead on Kickapoo and captured a 9-2 victory on Friday at Seneca High School. 

The game was decided quickly as Seneca exerted its will early with five runs in the first three innings.

Prairie du Chien blanked visiting Platteville 11-0 in 5 innings in an SWC baseball game Tuesday afternoon.

The Blackhawks scored 3 runs in the bottom of the second inning and erupted for 8 big runs in the third as they cruised to the win. 

Chas Sagedahl hurled a 2-hitter in 5 innings. He fanned 7 and walked none.

soccer makes strides

The Prairie du Chien girls soccer team played an outstanding game against River Valley on May 12 for parents night. 

The team started the evening honoring their parents with a carnation and a special thanks for all their support. These parents have raised some wonderful young ladies! The girls played with the heart and determination to make a strong stand against the conference leading team.

PdC soccer team 

hosts Platteville

The Lady Hawks soccer team took on the Hillmen of Platteville Tuesday night, May 10 at Bluff View. 

Platteville started the game strong and made Prairie work hard to regain control the ball as they spread the field. The Hawks hustled the entire game but the more experienced Hillmen had some strong drives toward Prairie’s goal. Tajah Eades was in goal for Prairie and had 5 saves in the first half and 12 in the second.

Aquinas blanks Lady Blackhawks

La Crosse Aquinas blanked host Prairie du Chien 8-0 in a nonconference softball game Monday afternoon at Bluff View.

Aquinas scored a run in the top of the fourth inning, 3 in the sixth, and 4 in the seventh. 

Aquinas had 8 hits and committed no errors. Prairie had 2 hits and committed 1 error.

River Ridge swept visiting Black Hawk in a twinbill in high school baseball action Friday afternoon. 

The Timberwolves took game one 14-4 in six innings.

Prairie du Chien suffered its first loss of the season 5-2 at the hands of visiting River Valley in an SWC baseball game Tuesday afternoon. 

Prairie got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second inning. 

Each team scored a run in the fourth as Prairie held a 2-1 lead.

River Ridge hosts 

Timberwolf Invite

The River Ridge track team hosted the Timberwolf Invitational Friday afternoon in Bloomington. 

North Crawford won the boys meet with 167 points. The Platteville JV was second with 138.5. River Ridge had 112, Cassville 69, De Soto 64, Wauzeka-Steuben 56.5, Dodgeville-Mineral Point 48, Fennimore 35, and Seneca 4.

Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets

Ithaca blanked host Wauzeka-Steuben 17-0 in a Ridge and Valley baseball game Monday afternoon. 

The Bulldogs scored 5 runs in the top of the second inning, 1 in the third, 6 in the fourth, and 5 in the fifth.

The Bulldogs had 15 hits in the contest and committed no errors.

Ithaca stops 


Ithaca defeated host Wauzeka-Steuben 8-1 in a Ridge and Valley softball game Monday afternoon. 

Molly Heisz was 1x3 with a double and a run scored to lead the Lady Hornets. 

Siena Krachey and Parker Mindham pitched for Wauzeka-Steuben. Krachey fanned 3 in 3 innings. Mindham whiffed 4 and walked 3 in 4 innings.
