Five lady Bulldogs earn all-conference recognition

Five players from the Upper Iowa Conference champion MFL MarMac girls basketball team have earned all-conference recognition. Bailey Winter and Rachel Davis were each named to the first team and Jordan Schubert to the second team, while RoseMary McGeough and Riley Moreland picked up honorable mention nods.

Winter, a senior, was the Bulldogs’ leading scorer this season, with 14.3 points per game. She had a 46.4 field goal percentage and was the team’s top three-point threat, sinking 26 shots from behind the arc over 23 games. Among MFL MarMac players, Winter was tops with 61 assists, 89 steals and 43 blocks. She was also second with 5.3 rebounds per game.

Davis, also a senior, shot 50 percent from the field this season and averaged 7.7 points in 23 games. She was tied for first on the team with 5.8 rebounds per game and also racked up 41 assists and 33 steals.

Schubert averaged 7.3 points per game in her senior season with the Bulldogs. Her 2019-2020 stat line also included 3.5 rebounds per game, 41 assists and 29 steals.

McGeough, another senior, played in 19 games this season, averaging 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds. She earned 41 assists and 29 steals.

Although injuries held Moreland to just 16 games, the sophomore still managed 9.3 points per game—good for second on the team. She was also tied for first with 5.8 rebounds per game and second with 22 blocks. Moreland’s 38 assists and 28 steals put her among MFL MarMac leaders as well.
