best River Ridge

Wauzeka-Steuben bested host River Ridge 16-1 in a nonconference softball game Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Hornets scored 5 runs in the top of the second inning to go up 5-0. 

Wauzeka-Steuben scored 2 runs in the fourth and 2 more in the fifth to increase their lead to 9-0.

The Lady Timberwolves got on the board with a run in the bottom of the sixth to pull within 9-1.

The Hornets erupted for 7 runs in the seventh to make the final score 16-1.

Wauzeka-Steuben had 15 hits and committed 2 errors. River Ridge had 4 hits and committed 9 errors.

Tabitha Check was 3x4 for Wauzeka-Steuben. Erin Krachey was 3x4 with a double. Ravyn Krachey was 2x6 with a double and a home run. Jordan Mormann was 2x5 with a double.

Siena Krachey took the mound win. She whiffed 3 batters and walked 1 in 7 innings.

Jordyn Vogt took the loss for River Ridge. She had 5 strikeouts and 4 walks while giving up 5 earned runs in 7 innings.

Wauzeka-Steuben improved to 1-0 on the season. River Ridge is 0-2.
